A large Jenkins Brick and Tile showroom in Pelham soon will be under new ownership after the Montgomery-based company was purchased by the Texas-based Acme Brick.

Acme purchased the longtime Alabama-based company on Jan. 24, and will take ownership of its three brick plants in Coosada, Montgomery and Leeds.

The Texas company will also take ownership of Jenkins Brick showrooms and wholesale distributors in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Florida, including one at 2299 Pelham Parkway.

The Pelham store offers brick, tile, fireplace, stone and granite products. Jenkins Brick has been in operation in Alabama since the late 1800s, according to the company’s website.

“We look forward to working with (Acme President and Chief Executive Officer) Dennis (Knautz) and his management team to make a smooth transition,” said Jenkins Brick owner Mike Jenkins IV.
