CHELSEA — A new burger joint in Chelsea is bringing the old-fashioned courtesy and flavor back to breakfast and lunch on the go.
Busy Bee Burger, owned by Johnny Colafrancesco, opened in late November inside the BP gas station across from Winn Dixie on U.S. 280.
Colafrancesco said his goal is to provide quality service and ingredients so his customers can taste and see the difference between his restaurant and fast food chains.
“We want to become like the old mom and pops that used to be everywhere until the chains took that away,” he said.
Busy Bee specializes in Black Angus beef burgers and Yukon gold fries, said Colafrancesco. With organically-raised beef and fresh, local produce, the menu is far from the typical fast food, he said.
“The big chains may have better advertising dollars but we are building our business one customer at a time through serving the best value possible,” Colafrancesco said.
The menu is not limited to burger and fries, however. Busy Bee also serves up breakfast starting at 6 a.m. and old-fashioned milkshakes made with Blue Bell ice cream.
Eggs from local farms, a variety of imported cheeses and fresh ground gourmet coffee make the breakfast menu similar to those in large sit down breakfast houses, Colafrancesco said. Customers at Busy Bee can order omelets, biscuits, croissants, bagels or the already-popular breakfast burrito to go or to eat in the restaurant, he said.
“We look forward to meeting everyone in Chelsea and whether you want to use our drive-thru or come in and take a seat we really look forward to becoming everyone’s top choice for breakfast in Chelsea,” he said.
In January, Colafrancesco hopes to continue the old-fashioned fare by offering a full line of pies by the slice or whole, he said.
Colafrancesco said his goal is for the quality of customer service to match the quality of the food.
“We have some of the nicest employees anywhere and I think you will notice right away that everyone who works here is sincerely interested in creating the best possible experience you can get each and every time you dine with us,” he said. “We cannot thank the local community for their support and hope to be everyone’s favorite place for food in Chelsea.”
