Spain Park picks up win over Corner wrestling meet

The Spain Park High School wrestling team recorded a win and two losses in three matches Dec. 9 at a dual meet at Dora.
The Jaguars defeated Corner and fell to Fultondale and host Dora in the meet.
Three Jaguars earned wins in their individual matches as Spain Park earned a 54-12 victory over Corner.
Spain Park 112-pounder Elijah Krukowski pinned Corner’s Casey Kyzer in 3:38. The Jaguars’ 125-pounder Andres Galinde earned a pin in 54 seconds over Tayler Fields of Corner.
Spain Park’s Marcus Jackson pinned Dustin Fulcher of Corner in 1:30 in the 152-pound match.
Five Spain Park wrestlers earned victories in their individual matches in a 52-27 loss to Fultondale.
Krukowski earned a 12-5 decision over Fultondale’s Sean Batemon in the 112-pound match. The Jaguars’ Emmanuel Cooper pinned Cody Powers of Fultondale in 25 seconds in the heavyweight match.
Galinde, 171-pounder Alec Hudson and 215-pounder Kameron Ricks each won by forfeit in the match.
The Jaguars also posted five individual wins in a 48-36 loss to host Dora.
Krukowski earned a pin in one minute over Levi Lemly of Dora in the 103-pound match. Spain Park 135-pounder Conrad Hathcoat pinned Dillon Johnson of Dora in 39 seconds.
Hudson earned a pin over Dora’s Nicholas Miller in 3:02 in the 171-pound match. Ricks pinned Zach Mann of Dora in 1:04 in the 215-pound match.
Spain Park 112-pounder Jackson Cotney won by forfeit.
