On Saturday, Nov. 6, 40 children from the metro Birmingham area schools came together to play chess. The third Annual Dancing Knights Scholastic, held at Valley Elementary School, was the reason for the camaraderie and competition.

Shelby County area winners for the K-8 division included Wesley Brown, first place; Eric Marin, second place; Kyle Camlic, third place; and Easan Ganesh, fourth place. K-4 division winners included Aidan Ganesh, third place; Neil Furman, fourth place; and Abby Camlic, fifth place.
