Montevallo hosts holiday home tour

MONTEVALLO — The holiday season will arrive in Montevallo this weekend in several of the city’s historical homes for a holiday home tour.
The home tour will begin at 10 a.m. Dec. 11 and will include the McKibbon House, Fox and Pheasant Bed and Breakfast Inn, Montevallo First United Methodist Church, the Will Lyman House and the King House.
Homes will be decorated for the holidays and entertainment and refreshments will be available at several of the sites, said Mary Lou Williams, president of the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce.
Tickets for the home tour are $10 and are available at Lucky’s, the chamber office and from chamber board members.
Other children-friendly holiday activities will also be available in Montevallo Dec. 11, Williams said.
The University of Montevallo Child Study Center will host a free breakfast with Santa Claus at 8:30 a.m. Parents are welcome to bring their camera for pictures and enjoy a free breakfast, bake sale, silent auction and arts and crafts sale, Williams said.
The Parnell Memorial Library will provide free milk and cookies with Mrs. Claus at the library at 10 a.m. A free showing of “Polar Express” in 3D will follow at 11 a.m.
