Oak Mountain, Thompson post wins at opening dual meet

The Oak Mountain High School wrestling squad opened the 2010 season Nov. 24 with wins over Mountain Brook and Huntsville in the Hewitt-Trussville Duals.
Eight wrestlers came away victorious in the Eagles’ 35-24 win over Mountain Brook.
Angus McBee pinned Bruce Eckert in the 189-pound match. Justin Woodall pinned William DeGuenther in 215-pound action and Chris Richmond pinned Henry Real in the heavyweight match.
Jared Godfrey picked up a 6-0 decision over William Letzer in 125-pound action. Jacob Parker earned a 1-0 decision over James Perkinson in the 130-pound match.
Conrad McBee defeated Alex Devilliers 6-0 in the 145-pound match and Jeff Back earned a 17-1 technical fall over Reed Adams in 171-pound action.
Five wrestlers earned wins in Oak Mountain’s 64-17 win over Huntsville.
Logan Dollins pinned Devonte Fletcher in 119-pound action. Jacob Darty earned a major decision 13-2 win over Kevin Charles in a 160-pound match.
Back pinned Alex Anderson in the 171-pound match and Richmond pinned Demos Payton in the heavyweight match. Lloyd Time pinned Thomas Demos in 215-pound action.
Thompson opened the season with four wins at the Hewitt-Trussville Duals.
The Warriors defeated Oak Mountain, Huntsville, Auburn and Southside at the dual meet. Thompson fell to Hoover in its only loss at the Hewitt-Trussville Duals.
The Warriors topped Oak Mountain 37-30 in the dual meet.
Reed Jacks pinned the Eagles’ Logan Dollins in a 119-pound match. John Austin (J.A.) Jones pinned Oak Mountain’s Conrad McBee in 145-pound action. Nick Hall picked up a 9-0 major decision over the Eagles’ Vincent Kimbrough in a 152-pound match.
Cahman Holder picked up an 8-2 decision over the Eagles’ Jacob Darty in 160-pound action. Josh Gillaspie pinned Jeff Back in 171-pound action. David Capers picked up a 6-3 decision over Oak Mountain’s Lloyd Time in the 215-pound match.
Oak Mountain’s John David Peden earned a 6-4 decision over Conner Gilson in the 103-pound match. Jared Godfrey of Oak Mountain earned a 7-0 decision over Mario Haynes. The Eagles’ Jacob Parker pinned Colt Jones in the 130-pound match.
Oak Mountain’s Justin Woodall pinned Jesse Masters in the 189-pound match and Chris Richmond of Oak Mountain earned an 8-6 decision over Jack Scott.
Thompson earned a 72-9 win over Huntsville in the Hewitt-Trussville Duals.
Five Warriors earned wins in the dual match.
Austin Gould pinned his opponent in a 112-pound match. Reed Jacks pinned his foe in the 119-pound match.
Josh Gillaspie defeated his opponent in the 160-pound match. Stanton Costes downed his foe in the 171-pound match.
Jimmy Miller pinned his opponent in 215-pound action.
Thompson defeated Auburn 52-24 in the dual meet.
Gilson pinned his 103-pound opponent and Gould earned a 4-0 decision over his 112-pound foe. Jones pinned his 145-pound opponent and Nick Hall pinned his 152-pound foe.
Gillaspie pinned his opponent in the 171-pound match and Jesse Masters pinned his foe in 189-pound action. Heavyweight Jack Scott also earned a pin.
Thompson picked up a 45-29 win over Southside at the dual meet.
Gilson earned a decision over his 103-pound opponent. Jones pinned his 152-pound foe. Gillaspie earned a pin in 160-pound action and Costes pinned his 171-pound opponent.
Masters pinned his 189-pound opponent and Miller recorded a pin in 215-pound action.
The Warriors fell 45-27 to Hoover in the Hewitt-Trussville Duals.
Gould pinned his 112-pound opponent. Gillaspie earned a decision over his 160-pound foe.
Hunter Pinneo pinned his 189-pound opponent and Miller earned a pin in his 215-pound match.
