Mr. Gerald Peeples of Columbiana and Ms. Judy Peeples of Kansas City, Kan. are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Sonya Renee Peeples to Lonnie James Higgins.

Sonya is a graduate of Shelby County High School in Columbiana and received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from the University of Alabama.  She is originally from Columbiana and now resides in Overland Park, Kan.

Lonnie is a graduate of Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kan.  He received his Aviation Mechanics Degree from the Aviation Institute of Maintenance and achieved certification by the Federal Aviation Association.  Lonnie is originally from Lawrence, Kan. and now resides in Edwardsville, Kan.  He is the son of Mr. James Higgins and Ms. Betty Easley.

The couple will wed on Sunday, May 29, 2011 in Parkville, Mo.
