Shelby County players at Caesar Chess recently placed in a scholastic chess tournament Oct. 9 during Alabama’s Chess Day.

In the K-4 not rated group, Aidan Ganesh, Neil Furman, Easan Ganesh and Abby Camlic, all of Valley Elementary, and Harshil Mehta of Bruno Montessori all placed.

In the novice K-8 not rated group, Eric Marin and Benjamin Boone of Oak Mountain Intermediate and Wesley Brown of Thompson Middle all placed.

In the knight K-6 rated section, Thanushri Srikantha of Valley Intermediate and Labdhi Mehta of Bruno Montessori placed.
