Coosa Valley rolls to win over Dixie

The Coosa Valley Academy football team rolled to a 41-15 win over Dixie Academy in a non-region contest Oct. 22.

Bryce Cook led the Rebels (8-1) with three rushing touchdowns.

Cook put Coosa Valley on the scoreboard with his 5-yard touchdown run with 9:27 left in the opening quarter.

Cook added a 2-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter and a 2-yard scoring run early in the second quarter to push the Rebels’ lead to 21-0.

Sam Bullard caught  a 20-yard touchdown pass from Hunter Rowe midway through the second quarter. Hunter Winslett reeled in a 44-yard touchdown pass from Rowe early in the third quarter to push the lead 35-0.

Adam McCranie capped the scoring for Coosa Valley with his 55-yard rushing touchdown before Dixie scored two late touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Rowe completed 6-of-9 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Rowe also rushed for 23 yards on five carries.

McCranie led the Rebels with 95 rushing yards on six carries. Tanner Wood rushed for 63 yards on four attempts.

Nick Bates led the Rebels with nine tackles. Myles Varner and Jordan Green recorded six tackles each.

Coosa Valley closes out the regular season by hosting undefeated Crenshaw Christian Academy in a non-region contest Oct. 29. The Rebels will play host to Chambers Academy in the first round of the Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 1A playoffs Nov. 5.
