Kingwood Christian School seniors Kevin Woody and Tyrone Pope accounted for six touchdowns to lead the Lions to a 56-13 win Oct. 8 on the road at Lyman Ward.
Woody rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries. Woody finished with touchdown runs of 2 yards, 11 yards and 45 yards in the victory.
Pope added 131 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. Pope scored on touchdown runs of 45 yards and 21 yards in the win.
Pope also finished with 147 return yards, including a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Nick Gentile led the defensive effort for the Lions, who improved to 6-2 overall. Gentile recorded eight tackles, including two tackles for a loss, a sack and a fumble recovery in the win.
Kingwood Christian returns to AISA Class 3A, Region 2 play Oct. 8 as the Lions play host to Morgan Academy in a region contest.
