Vincent squeaks past Francis Marion

Vincent High School senior running back Ben McKinney rushed for three touchdowns to help the Yellow Jackets remain undefeated in Class 2A, Region 4 play following a 36-34 win Oct. 1 on the road at Francis Marion.
Demonte Johnson connected with Sedarius Lawson for a 29-yard scoring strike for the Yellow Jackets’ first touchdown in the game in the second quarter.
McKinney added a 20-yard rushing touchdown and a 9-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter.
Shacorry Lilly added a 30-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter. McKinney capped the scoring for the Yellow Jackets with his 8-yard touchdown run.
Johnson ran it in successfully on two 2-point conversion attempts and threw a pass to Ryan Kelow for another 2-point conversion in the victory.
McKinney led Vincent (4-2, 4-0 in Class 2A, Region 4) with 126 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 21 attempts.
Lilly added 95 rushing yards and a touchdown on nine attempts and Johnson finished with 30 rushing yards on nine carries.
Johnson completed 8-of-16 passes for 79 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Johnson and Lilly led the Vincent defense with seven tackles each.
The Yellow Jackets host Isabella in their homecoming game Oct. 8.
