Melissa Oyer and Justin Brown are pleased to announce their engagement. Melissa is the daughter of Scott and Chris Oyer of Alabaster and granddaughter of Rose and the late Dave Campbell of Vestavia Hills. Justin is the son of Teresa Smith of Tuscaloosa.

Melissa graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Information Sciences with an emphasis in journalism. Justin also graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.

The couple currently resides in Farmington, N.M. where Justin is employed with Public Services of New Mexico as a Combustion Engineer and Melissa is employed as the Special Sections Editor for the Daily Times.

A wedding is planned for May 7, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church of Alabaster with a reception to follow at Aldridge Botanical Gardens.
