Cadets Raegan Whitfield (R) and Brooklyn Jones (L) celebrate with Kyser (Center) on her new accomplishment. On June 22, 2010, Command Sgt. Maj. (retired) Mary Kyser received Army recognition as the state of Alabama Army JROTC Instructor of the Year for school year 2009-2010. The certificate of recognition was presented by Mr. Jerome Gates, the Alabama area manager for Army Junior ROTC programs. The award recognized Kyser’s outstanding contributions to the US Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps at Vincent High School for the previous school year. Kyser continually demonstrated outstanding dedication to the JROTC program, Vincent Middle High School and to the local community.
