Bryan McMurray of Riverchase Country Club tried to keep pace with Steve Cutler from Wynlakes Golf and Country Club in the Dixie PGA Section Championship tournament Sept. 15 by firing a final round of 5-under par 66, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Cutler as he posted a tournament total of 4-under par 209 to claim second place.

McMurray, who pocketed $2,400 for his second-place finish, fired an even-par 71 in the first round Sept. 13 and a 1-over par 72 in the second round Sept. 14 at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Fla.

Todd McCorkle of Greystone Golf and Country Club finished in a five-way tie for 17th overall with his three-day total of 10-over par 223.

Brian Speakman of Greystone and Skylar Everett of Shoal Creek Country Club finished in a two-way tie for 30th overall.

David Rowe of Riverchase finished 38th overall.
