Ms. Goolsby’s class at Valley Elementary learned how to choose “Just Right Books” by modeling different sizes of clothing.
The class talked about how readers choose “easy,” “just right” or “challenging” books to read. Chase Christian modeled that he would not choose his dad’s shirt to wear to school so he would not choose a book that was to hard for him to read.
Tatum Stignani modeled that he would not choose his little sister’s shirt to wear to school or a book that was too easy and Leonardo Martinez modeled a just right shirt that he would choose to wear to school.
The students learned the concept of choosing books that they can enjoy and not become frustrated with.
