Alan Christopher Smith, a 2010 graduate of Hope Christian School, has been awarded one of the Mabel and Lawrence S. Cooke scholarships by the National Eagle Scout Association. Alan is an Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 72 from Evangel Presbyterian Church in Alabaster. He plans to major in engineering at Auburn University this fall. Alan is also the recipient of several other scholarships including the Auburn University Founders Scholarship and the Clarence C. Adams Scholarship from the Auburn University School of Engineering. Alan is the son of Ken and Carol Smith of Montevallo.
