Parents of Shelby County and Hoover students may see some new faces in the principals’ offices this year.
Both the Shelby County and Hoover school systems have new administrators for the coming school year.
Shelby County Schools spokesperson Cindy Warner said the only new principal in the Shelby County School System is Stacy Aderholt at Shelby Elementary.
Warner said there are several new assistant principals in the system, including Haley Franks from Montevallo Elementary, Shellie Ritch at Montevallo Middle, Holly Jackson at Creek View Elementary and Kevin Butler at Pelham High School.
Jason Gaston, spokesperson for Hoover City Schools, said Spain Park High School has three new school officials, including Principal Chris Shaw, Assistant Principal Michelle Hayes and new band director Ken Jarnigan, who is also the school system’s fine arts director.
Warner said the best way for parents to learn about Shelby County Schools is to visit the website at Shelbyed.k12.al.us.
“There is not much that a parent can’t find about the school district that isn’t on that website,” Warner said. “There is a wealth of resources on there and parents really need to spend some time drilling down into all the links to discover what is available to them.”
Warner also said parents could contact the school system at 682-7000 for information.
Gaston said parents involved with Hoover City Schools could check the website at www2.Hoover.k12.al.us.
“We try to continually update it and then our individual school websites with information,” Gaston said. “If parents don’t find what they’re looking for on the Web, we ask them to just give us a call at 439-1000.”
