With more than 300 players from seven different states, Rick and Bubba’s third annual Super Summer Slam was a success again this year, said Chaney Mills, the coordinator of tennis development for the Pelham Racquet Club.
“The weather was perfect, which is a big deal when you’re playing tennis,” Mills said.
The tournament is the largest in the Southeast to feature National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) age-distribution.
“I enjoy tennis, and I’m glad we are able to partner with The Pelham Racquet Club to put on an event at this level,” said Bill “Bubba” Bussey, one of the tournament sponsors. “I have gotten a lot of positive feedback from the players, and it is a good tune-up for the Alabama Adult State Championships in Mobile these next two weekends.”
