The Alabama Independent Schools Association has once again awarded the Class 1A Chairman’s Award to Cornerstone Christian School.
The Chairman’s Award is given to the school with the most outstanding overall varsity athletic program in its class each year, taking into account final team standings and other criteria in each sport.
During the 2009-2010 season, the Chargers made it to the Class 1A Elite Eight in volleyball, and finished in the top four in Class 1A baseball, boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball and football. Additionally, Cornerstone continued to dominate the Class 1A softball landscape, winning an unprecedented fourth straight state championship.
The Chargers also won their first boys’ track and field championship in school history.
