Pelham Police arrested an 84-year-old man May 14 at his home in Ballantrae and have charged him with the murder of his 77-year-old wife.

Police responded to the home of William Virgil Proctor in the 1300 block of Caliston Way at approximately 3:25 p.m., and arrested Proctor after questioning.

Proctor was booked into the Shelby County Jail and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
