Chelsea officials will tour several local neighborhoods March 3 as they seek to repair some of the city’s damaged residential roads.

Mayor Earl Niven and other city officials will tour the Covington Place, Sydney’s Place, Brynleigh Estates, Sunset Lakes, Greenbriar and Foothills subdivisions as they identify streets in need of repair, Niven said during a brief March 2 Chelsea City Council meeting.

“We will get a detailed list of areas that are identified as problems,” Niven said. “Some are minor, but there are a couple roads that really, really need some help.

After touring the neighborhoods, the city officials will prioritize the roads in roads in need of attention and work to repair them, Niven said.

“Hopefully, we will have a course of action to follow after tomorrow,” he said.

In other business, the council accepted about 19 acres of land donated to the city by Foothills Partners, LLC, in the Foothills subdivision.

The land contains a lake and two pieces of vacant property, and will be added to land already set aside for the city’s future community and senior adult center.
