Accused shooter of Pelham Police officer to be arraigned March 4

The arraignment of a man suspected of killing Pelham Police officer Philip Davis Is scheduled for Thursday, March 4 at 1:30 p.m.
Bart Wayne Johnson, 29, of Kimberly is charged with fatally shooting Johnson on Dec. 3 following a traffic stop on Interstate 65.
The original arraignment for Johnson was scheduled for Feb. 4, but was postponed due to scheduling conflicts.
Johnson was indicted in December and has been charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Davis.
Johnson, who is being held without bond in the Shelby County Jail, will appear before Judge Michael Joiner.
Shelby County District Attorney Robbie Owens has said the state intends to seek the death penalty when the case goes to trial.
