Wolves top the Warriors in SCYBL

DIVISION 1

The Wolves beat the Warriors 20 to 8. The Wolves were led by Aaliyah Cotton with 8 points, Max Kearly added 4 points, T.J. McGinnis had 7 rebounds, with Skye Lilly and Faythe Moore anchoring the defense. The Warriors top scorer was Noah with 4 points.

The Firedogs defeated the Wildcats 21 to 15. The Firedogs were led by Eli Jones with 10 points, Molly Beth Gay and Joel Pennington played outstanding defense, with John Paul Fox putting forth a good effort. The Wildcats were led in scoring by Larz Belfanz with 7 points.

DIVISION 2 (Boys)

The Blazers sparked and beat the Wildcats 18 to 16. The Blazers leaders were Chase Jones with 7 points, Colby Blythe had 8 rebounds, Matthew Prosser played good defense, and Andrew West hustled and showed good effort. The Wildcats leading scorers were Kaytlyn and Austin Lucas with 4 points each.

The Hammerheads held off the Thunderdogs to win 22 to 16. The Hammerheads were led by Conner Davis with 7 points, Jimmy Lewter added 6 points, Ethan Johnson had 9 rebounds, with Jimmy Frisinger and Chris Smith being clutch performers at the end of the game. The Thunderdogs leading scorers were Dawson Humphries with 7 points and Lauren Carter added 5 points.

The Terminators cooled the Heat 30 to 18. The Terminators top scorers were Jesse Jones with 10 points and Cole Jefferies with 6. The Heat’s leading scorers were Ethan Lemley and Branson with 4 points each.

The Jaguars beat the Dominators 27 to 14. The Jaguars leaders were Patrick Killingsworth and Jason Lucas with 8 points each, Tucker Dunnaway had 6 rebounds, and Quadarrius Sawyer played hard on both ends of the court. The Dominators leading scorer was Judson Raia with 7 points.

DIVISION 5 (Girls)

The Divas defeated Poison Ivy 17 to 7. The Divas were led by Sam Slaughter with 13 points, Carly Ann King had 12 rebounds, and Angel Mallory had 5 steals. Poison Ivy was led by Caitlyn Buie with 3 points, Cydnee Goodwin had 7 rebounds, and Sara Head had 6 steals.

The Bolts beat the Lady Twinkies 29 to 11. The Bolts were led by Charley Clark with 11 points, Hannah Marling got 7 rebounds, and Ashlyn Ruston-Seale played good defense. The Lady Twinkies leaders were Nadia Cockrell with 4 points, Katelyn Bevard had 2 rebounds, and Janie Pennington hustled and showed good effort.

DIVISION 6 (Girls)

The Lightning came back to beat the Snowflakes 22 to 20. The Lightning’s leading scorers were Sara Catherine Nash with 10 points and Beth Danner added 8. The Snowflakes were led by Brooke McKinney with 5 points, Payton Jebeles had 7 rebounds, with Joy McDaniel and Asia McGregor playing good defense.

The Vipers dimmed the Glowsticks 22 to 15. The Vipers were led by Victoria Cox with 12 points, Kalei Merrifield had 17 rebounds, Emma Smith played good defense, and Sara Head hustled. The Glowsticks leading scorers were Kerrigan Wood with 8 points and Meagan Stevens added 4.

DIVISION 3 (Boys)

The Heat torched the Crushers 23 to 11. The Heat was led by Tyler McNamee with 12 points, Vernon Cunningham, Jr. and Jacquon Buie had 7 rebounds each, with Daniel Moody playing good defense on the blocks. The Crushers were led by Grant Joiner with 3 points, Kolby Morris had 7 rebounds, Cameron Morris was tough on defense, with Adison Couch and J.T. Lee hustling and playing hard.

The Globejoggers took down the Cavs in overtime, 22 to 21.The Globejoggers scoring came from Trent Freeman with 10 points, along with Jim Vick and Zack Smith adding 6 points each. The Cavs leaders were Zach Borden with 9 points, Noah Reese had 7 rebounds, Jamarius Mayfield scored 8 points, with Jake Borden and Cody Farmer anchoring the defense.

The Patriots defeated the Wizards 22 to 18. The Patriots were led by Will Knowles with 10 points and 12 rebounds, Tucker Holley had 9 steals, and A.J. Cole hustled and showed good effort. The Wizards top scorers were Adam Landefield with 7 points and Tanner Glass with 6.
