Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Darwin Bussey, of Columbus, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Williams Bussey to Reid Alan Filipiak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roch Jay Filipiak of Washington, Ga.

Bussey is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Fite, Sr. of Decatur, and Mrs. Josephine Williams Bussey of Columbus, Ga., and the late Mr. Darwin William Bussey.

She is a graduate of Hoover High School.

She received a bachelor of science in dietetics from Lipscomb University and completed her dietetic internship at Marshall University.

Filipiak is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Jay Miller of Washington, Ga., the late Mr. Edmund Filipiak and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Elwood Friese of Columbus, Ga.

He attended Athens Technical College to become a physical therapy assistant.

The couple will wed March 20, 2010 at Oakhurst Farm in West Point, Ga.

Buddy Jones of Chattahoochee Valley Church of Christ will officiate.
