Mr. Austin Rusaw Blackerby, 90, of Alabaster passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at home.
Blackerby was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Turner Blackerby, his parents and eight brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra B. Bruce and Sharon Allen; grandchildren, Rowdy Allen, Dr. Brett Bruce and Heather Bruce Elliot; and great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Elliot, Daniel Bruce, Tyler Bruce and Kaylee Bruce.
Mr. Blackerby served in WWII in the Pacific and worked at US Steel and Pullman Standard in Bessemer.
A service will be held at a later time for family.
