Danberry at Inverness names Roller new medical director

Paul Douglas Roller has been named the new Medical Director for Assisted Living at Danberry at Inverness senior living community.
Board certified in both internal medicine and geriatrics, Roller comes to Danberry from SeniorCare Geriatric Healthcare Services, a medical practice which focuses on coordination of the health care needs for seniors and their caregivers.
Roller is deeply committed to providing care for older adults to maintain the best possible quality of life while preserving independence and function.
He plans on helping to develop a comprehensive care system for those patients and their caregivers at Danberry at Inverness.
Roller also has served as vice president and medical director for the Medicare HMO program for United HealthCare of Alabama and as medical director for Senior Services at the Brookwood Medical Center.
His several academic appointments include serving as associate/fellow and as assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
He also serves as a medical advisor to the Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama Board of Directors.
He is a graduate of Duke University and attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va.
Roller earned his master’s in business administration and master’s in public health in health care organization and policy from UAB.
He and his wife, Kay Scilley Roller, have two children.
