Somerby at St. Vincent’s One Nineteen, an active adult rental retirement community, opened its doors several weeks ago and has been welcoming new residents ever since.
The community, which shares the campus of St. Vincent’s One Nineteen Health and Wellness Center, has 136 independent living apartment homes and 64 assisted living residences. Construction of the community cost $38.5 million.
“Our team set out to create an active retirement community unlike any other in the area,” said Michael Mays, president and chief operating officer of Somerby Senior Living, a division of Dominion Partners.
Among the unique offerings is a joint venture with St. Vincent’s Health System and its One Nineteen Health and Wellness Center. Somerby residents enjoy complete access to its variety of programs, services and amenities, as well as proximity to medical offices that include 54 specialty physicians.
Many residents say this unique arrangement is an added benefit to living at Somerby. For instance, a resident can work out at St. Vincent’s One Nineteen Heath and Wellness Center and use one of the internists across campus at the Health and Wellness Center.
Among the many special features at Somerby is the opportunity to participate in the exclusive Masterpiece Living initiative, which allows residents to develop individualized plans to help them age successfully. Masterpiece Living acknowledges each person’s individuality and helps them achieve their personal best.
Somerby also provides residents with a variety of services and amenities that includes maintenance-free living, restaurant-style dining, a bistro and a coffee bar.
