Pet lovers have the opportunity to help a very special breed of dog and enjoy some good wine while doing so.

Pleasure Is All Wine is hosting a fund-raising event for Adopt a Golden ­— as in Golden Retriever — on Friday, Nov. 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Pleasure Is All Wine, 200 Bowling Lane, Suite 210, Pelham.

Cost is $25 to participate in the wine tasting and hors d’ouevres. The event will also include a silent auction, raffles and door prizes.

“One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Adopt a Golden organization of Atlanta, which serves the Birmingham-Shelby County areas,” said Lorraine Donald, owner of Pleasure Is All Wine.

“The Atlanta association took in more than 500 Golden Retrievers from this area in the last year. We have sent them five or six in the last couple of weeks,” said Donald, whose 13-year-old Golden Retriever, Rusty, passed away recently.
