The Helena Police Department Oct. 28 arrested a Helena resident for child molestation and domestic violence as part of an ongoing Washington state investigation.
Earlier this week, the Orchard Park (Wash.) Police Department contacted Helena Police Det. Chris Rollan for help in their investigation into 37-year-old Christopher Tye Moore.
Orchard Park currently holds warrants for Tye’s arrest on charges of domestic violence in the second degree and unlawful sexual conduct with a child under the age of 12.
Rollan used the information given by the Orchard Park department to locate Moore. The Helena tactical unit arrested Moore on a fugitive from justice warrant at his residence on Bridlewood Park Lane without incident.
Helena Police Capt. Tim Carter said the Helena Police Department does not have an open investigation into Moore’s activities.
He said Moore has been on the run from Washington state authorities for about eight or nine months.
“He spent about a month in Texas and a couple of weeks in Oklahoma, and he’s been here for somewhere around six months,” Carter said.
Moore is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail, pending extradition to Kitsap County, Wash.
