Catfish Landing recently began hosting weekend concerts inside the restaurant with Christian country singer-songwriter Ben Spradley.

Owner Marlene Garmon said she and husband Randy are just trying to give the customers a little more bang for their buck.

“It’s just to add a little more to the restaurant for our customers, to give them a little more entertainment,” Garmon said. “We just wanted something where our customers could eat and enjoy themselves with the music.”

The concerts are free from 6:30-8:30 Friday and Saturday nights.

Garmon said the entertainment weekends will last as long as the customers want them, but she’s currently assured of them lasting into early 2010.

“If it stays successful, we’ll continue this. It’s not just fall, it’s not just a summer thing, it’s just what the public wants,” she said. “We want to give them what they want. That’s what we do.”
