Pickens Academy took advantage of big play after big play in the first half as it handed Kingwood Christian a 47-0 loss Friday night.

Pickens scored on runs of 50 yards, 37 yards and 22 yards in the first half, while also completing a 91-yard pass play for a touchdown.

Seth Trimble led the Lions (0-5) with 35 rushing yards on nine carries. Tyrone Pope added 32 yards on 15 carries.

Pope also completed a 52-yard pass to Peyton Summerall.

Quarterback Daniel Reeves completed 4-of-12 passes for 32 yards with one interception.

Peyton Summerall led the Kingwood Christian defense with four tackles and a forced fumble.

Michael Randall added three tackles. The Lions travel to Tuscaloosa Academy Oct. 10 looking for their first win of the season.
