Shoal Creek golfer first alternate at Dixie PGA event

Eric Williamson, director of Shoal Creek Golf Club, finished fourth overall and the first alternate for a national tournament Thursday at the Dixie PGA Professional Championship at Limestone Springs Golf Club in Oneonta.
Williamson fired a 72 on Wednesday and Thursday to finish at a total of even-par 144 in the two-day event. David Hanson carded a four-under par 140 to win the championship. Mark Blackburn shot a 1-under par 143 to finish second and Gary Rusnak had an even-par 144 and won a tiebreaker with Williamson to claim third. Hanson, Blackburn and Rusnak each qualified to compete in the 43rd PGA Professional National Championship June 27 – 30, 2010, at the French Lick Resort in French Lick, Ind.
Williamson will play in the PGA Professional National Championship if one of the top three qualifiers are unable to play. Williamson received $1,100 in winnings at the Limestone Springs event.
