Mrs. Margie A. Barnes passed away May 10, 2009.
She was a member of the American Legion in Birmingham for several years.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing volleyball, bingo and other nursing home activities at her residence.
She is preceded in death by her spouse, Robert Owen Barnes Sr.; son, Joe Jo Barnes; and a daughter, (Sissy) Wanda June Barnes.
She is survived by her son, Bo Barnes Jr.; daughter-in-laws, Rosa Lee Barnes and Debbie Barnes; grandchildren, Tracie Taylor, Crystal Leatherwood, Owen Barnes and Jody McKinley; great-grandchildren, Mayle Leatherwood, Davis Leatherwood, Seydi Taylor and Trudie Taylor; and several other family members and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Columbiana Health and Rehabilitation Center for the comfort and care they provided to their beloved mother and grandmother.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, at Old Chapel Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday, May 12, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
