Kimberly “Lane” DeShazo

Kimberly “Lane” DeShazo, 32 years of age and formerly of Columbiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 1, 2009. Visitation was from 12-2 p.m. for family and friends Wednesday May 6, 2009, at Good Hope United Methodist Church with a special memorial following and burial in Williams Family Cemetery. Lane’s uncle, The Rev. Jerry Bishop along with the Rev. Sam Harton, pastor of Good Hope United Methodist Church, officiated her services. Lane was a devoted member of New Beginnings Church in Hueytown, Ala. where she will be missed.
Lane attended Shelby County High School, The University of Montevallo and finished at Samford University.
She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Paul and Carolyn Skelton of Pelham and Owen and Virginia DeShazo of Cahaba Valley, along with her uncle Phillip Skelton of Pelham aunt Charlette DeShazo of Cahaba Valley. Leaving behind her family, Darrell, Paula, Darla Grace, and Bailey Owen DeShazo of Columbiana, a host of Aunts and Uncles: Steve and Susan Skelton of Pelham, Alton and Kay DeShazo of Wilsonville, Jerry and Mary K Bishop of Brenen, Dan and Lynne DeShazo of Alabaster, Jim and Linda Doss of Enid, Ok, with many cousins and friends.
Lane will be remembered for her outgoing spirit and zest for life.
