Helena Intermediate School will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. today due to a loss of power, said Shelby County Schools spokesperson Cindy Warner.

Students will be fed a sack lunch, and then buses and the car rider line will begin operating. Parents may check out their children earlier if they prefer, Warner said.

Helena Intermediate is the only Shelby County School in session today. While other students are enjoying a three-day break, Helena Intermediate students were in school for the last of four make-up days. The school was closed for four days last October after a sewage spill.
