Melissa Oyer of Alabaster graduated from the College of Communication and Information Sciences at the University of Alabama on Dec. 13.

She received a bachelors of science degree in journalism with a minor in political science.

Oyer worked with Crimson Karma and Creative Campus, as a communications liason on the SGA, a mentor for the Junior League and on the promotions team for the campus radio station, the Capstone. She spent summer 2008 in Montgomery interning in Gov. Bob Riley’s office.

Melissa graduated from Thompson High School in 2000.
