Montevallo’s Metrock Steel and Wire Co. announced it has laid off 41 workers.

Metrock informed the Alabama State Dislocated Worker Unit of the job cuts. According to the unit’s Web site, Metrock filed an initial report Nov. 4.

Plant manager Steve Tucker declined comment Wednesday.

Metrock, located on Highway 25, manufactures industrial galvanized and aluminized wires.
