Lightning improves to 8-1 with win

Five Evangel running backs rushed for a combined eight touchdowns Friday as the Lightning improved to 8-1 with a dominating 58-6 victory over Golden Acres.
The Lightning opened up a 22-6 lead in the first quarter, but that would be all the scoring for Golden Acres.
Evangel added 16 points in the second quarter, 14 in the third quarter and six in the final quarter to close out the night.
Hunter Burridge led the Lightning charge with 91 yards on five carries and three touchdowns, including runs of 34, 28 and 23 yards.
Joshua Flanders had two scores for the Lighting, while Beaux Byrd had one.
Jakan Sylestine also had a score from 40 yards out, while quarterback Henry Foster scored from 28 yards out. Sylestine finished with 81 yards.
Defensively for the Lightning, Collin Hipps had a team-high nine tackles, followed by Luke Webb with seven tackles and Foster with five tackles.
The Lightning return home Friday to close out the regular season with homecoming.
