Two people were killed Tuesday in a wreck involving a tractor trailer on Interstate 65 North near the Shelby County Airport exit.

According to the state troopers office, the two-vehicle wreck was reported at 7:30 a.m. The wreck victims’ names have not yet been released.

Traffic remains backed up in the northbound lanes as state troopers continue their investigation. Calera Police are on hand to direct motorists to alternate routes.
