Juwan Rogers continued his quest for 1,000 yards rushing, racking up 95 yards and three touchdowns to help lead Vincent past Shades Mountain, 34-7.
Rogers, who has 503 yards in four games, found the end zone twice in the opening quarter and again in the second quarter.
“We went out and took control early,” Vincent head coach Dwight Spradley said.
Vincent (3-1, 2-1) collected 191 yards on the ground in the game, as Ben McKinney added 47 yards.
Corey Deloach orchestrated the offense with 171 yards passing on 6-of-8 attempts. His 47-yard pass to Michael Kelley with 3:59 to play in the first half gave the Yellow Jackets a 27-0 halftime lead.
McKinney tacked on another Jackets touchdown midway through the third quarter from 40 yards out.
Vincent racked up 362 yards of offense, while holding Shades Mountain scoreless until its final drive, when Sean Madris dashed 38 yards against the Jackets bench players for the lone score of the fourth quarter.
After playing three of its first four games on the road this season, Vincent returns home next week against Winterboro to start a three-game home stand.
“We just played well enough to win on both sides,” Spradley said. “As he schedule gets tougher, we’re going to have to play better.”
That playing better will include finding a way to not put the ball on the turf six times, losing four of them and eliminating their 15 penalties for 94 yards.
