Flowers and wine a perfect combination

Will Yuille, co-owner of Sips and Snips in Helena, wants to offer his customers a different kind of night out.
At his business, clients bring in their favorite beverage — wine is a popular choice — and then commence making florist-quality flower arrangements.
Yuille said the idea was born after visiting Sips n’ Strokes, a U.S. Highway 280 business where people can socialize while attending a painting class.
“Me and my business partner and family and friends went to Sips n’ Strokes and we enjoyed it so much,” Yuille said. “We thought, ‘We can do that with flowers.’ It was a no-brainer for us.”
Sips and Snips has classes Tuesday and Thursday nights. Those that come in to make arrangements can take the arrangements home at the end of class. The business is located off Highway 52.
Classes range from $35-$45 each, and arrangements are seasonal.
“We will also be doing holiday classes where they can make a wreath for their doors,” Yuille said. “Next Valentine’s, we’ll have a men’s night out where they can make roses for their wife or their girlfriend for Valentine’s Day.”
Eventually, Yuille would like to see his business expand to have classes every night, and he would like to include children’s classes as well.
“Our tagline is ‘Experience the art.’ We want them to experience the art of designing,” he said.
The business officially opened last week.
Yuille sees his business as an opportunity to fill a need for interactive classes in Helena.
“When we went to Sips n’ Strokes, we had to go all the way to Highway 280. There’s not a lot that goes on in Helena as far as that’s concerned,” he said. “It’s a growing town, and we thought this would go over really well in Helena because of that.”
