Water Board chairman Bobby Joe Phillips said the city’s water restrictions have been lifted following the opening of Calera’s new water filter plant.

The plant will operate at 6 million gallons a day, with the capability to expand to 10 million gallons a day.

“I want to personally thank the citizens of Calera for supporting the city by conforming to the water restriction hours during our time of need,” Phillips said. “I am proud that we can now turn on our faucets without concern about water supply.”
