Daniel V. Graben, age 79, of Helena, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008.

He was a member and lifetime deacon of First Baptist Church of Pelham and was employed by Sentell Oil Company with more than 20 years of service.

“Mr. Dan” was a retired school bus driver for the Shelby County School System.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Hazel Graben; parents, Colmon and Ines Graben; grandson, Jared Horton; and son-in-law, Tony Carlesso.

Mr. Graben is survived by daughters, Nancy Graben (Steve) Lowe and Barbara Carlesso; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tom) Miller, Nathan Smith, Susan Batke, Ashley (Ben) Greene and David Lowe; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Monday, June 23, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. The funeral service was held Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Southern Heritage. Dr. Mike Shaw officiated.
