Funeral service for Phillip Wheeler, age 85, of Columbiana, was at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Bolton-Letlow Chapel. Visitation was Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home.

Mr. Wheeler, who passed away Monday, May 26, 2008, at a local hospital, was born Jan. 21, 1923, in Fourmile Community. He fought in WWII.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Ruth Wheeler, and brothers, Sherrill Wheeler, Bernard Wheeler and Jerry Wheeler.

He is survived by his children, Teresa Chappell, Nancy Youngblood, Larry Wheeler, Roger Wheeler, and Danny Joe “Red” Wheeler; step-children, Shirley Joseph, Jimmy Davis and Sharon Layton; 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Frank Wheeler and Jack Wheeler; and a host of other family and friends.
