Upchurch – Garrett

Mr. Melvin Upchurch of Homewood and Ms. Peggy Upchurch of

Alabaster announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their

daughter, Ali Upchurch, to John Garrett, son of Greg and Beth Wright of

Clanton.

The bride-elect graduated from Thompson High School in Alabaster in 1998 and

went on to graduate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2002

with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. She then attended the

Cumberland School of Law, where she graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2005.

She moved to Clanton after graduation to begin practicing law, and has

recently opened her own office at 808 Lay Dam Road in Clanton.

The prospective groom graduated from Chilton County High School in 1992, and

then joined the United States Army 1st Infantry Division where he served in

the Military Police. He later served our country in the Army National Guard

and is currently in the Air Force Reserves.

He is employed full-time as a juvenile intake officer at the Shelby County Juvenile Detention Center in Columbiana.

The wedding is set to take place Saturday, Feb. 23 at Enon Baptist

Church in Montevallo. Invitations will be sent
