Ricky Coleman hit a jumper, with 7.1 seconds remaining to lift Valdosta State University to a 70-69 victory over the University of Montevallo, in a Gulf South Conference men’s basketball game Monday in Valdosta, Ga.

UM had a chance to win the game, but missed a jumper as time expired.

Terrill Humphrey led UM with 19 points. Anthony Brown and Tauras Dortch had 15 points each, while Eric Turner scored 10 points.

UM picked up its second GSC win Saturday with a 75-70 overtime victory at the University of West Florida.

Humphrey led with 23 points, including five 3-pointers, while Brown and Dortch had 13 and 12 points, respectively.

UM (2-3 GSC, 9-10) will host the University of West Alabama Saturday at 7:30 p.m
