Falcons swept in Vegas Tournament

Seventh-ranked Drury University topped the University of Montevallo Falcons, 67-62, Dec. 19 at the Las Vegas High Desert Classic. The loss was Montevallo’s second in two days after falling to the host team, the University of Central Missouri, 66-60, the previous day.
UM trailed Drury by eight points (49-41) with 12 minutes remaining in the second half, and put together a 10-0 run over the next two-and-a-half minutes to take its first lead of the half. UM later led by four, 55-51, with 7:30 to play, but was unable to hold on for the win.
Terrill Humphrey and Taurus Dortch led UM with 16 points each against Drury, while Anthony Brown had 10 points. DeAndre Miranda led Montevallo on the glass with 11 rebounds.
UM (5-5) returns to action Dec. 28-29 in Lakeland, Fla. to participate in a tournament hosted by Florida Southern College. UM will play St. Joseph’s College (Ind.) on Dec. 28 and Palm Beach Atlantic University on Dec. 29
