Geneva Shaner, age 80, of Sterrett passed away Sept. 19, 2007, at St. Vincent-St. Clair Hospital.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at Pleasant Site Missionary Baptist Church and officiated by the Rev. Charles Shaw and the Rev. Mitch Connell.

She will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church, and there will be visitation Friday, Sept. 21 from 6-8 p.m.

She is survived by her sons, Ovie Shaner Jr. of Helena, Roger Shaner of Fayetteville, and Virgil Shaner of Chelsea; her daughters, Jenny Grimes of Chelsea, Carolyn Smith of Jemison and Debra Andrews of Vincent; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
