Betty Lou Thomas, age 82, of Wilsonville passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2007. She was born in Alabama on Dec. 9, 1924, the daughter of Mr. Calvin and Mrs. Mamie Walker Harris. She was co-founder of Piping and Equipment in Bessemer.

Funeral services were held at Charter Funeral Home in Calera at 1 p.m. on Thursday, with Pastor Barry Sadler officiating. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation was held at Charter Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeani Walker (Fred) of Wilsonville; son, Joel Thomas (Fonda) of Alabaster; granddaughter, Christy Wood (Woody); grandson, Ben Durrett (Tiffany); and one great-grandson, Bailey Durrett.
