Thelma Juanita Byrd Massey, 79, passed away Friday, June 22, 2007 at her home. She truly loved her church at Amazing Grace Worship Center in Saginaw.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Rockco&8217;s Funeral Home Chapel in Montevallo with the Rev. Ricky Smith presiding. Burial followed at Still Memorial-Elliottsville Cemetery in Alabaster.
She was preceded in death by sister, Jeanette Payne; brothers, Carl Wayne Byrd and Bobby Ray Byrd; brother-in-law, Earl Payne; and sisters-in-law, Lorene and Earline Byrd.
She is survived by her spouse of 58 years and her best friend William (Billy) Massey of Maylene; daughters, Linda Bowlin of Brierfield and Christy Henault (Martin) of Quebec, Canada; sons, Ken Massey (Fran) of Alabaster and Jimmy Bowlin (Layne) of Maylene; sister, Mary Melton (Ray) of Pascagoula, Miss.; sisters-in-law, Lucille Byrd of Montevallo and Sylvia Underwood of Montevallo; brothers, Charles Byrd (Geneva) of Shelby, Donald Bryd of Shelby and Hershel Byrd (Nora) of Jemison; brother-in-law, Bobby Massey (Martha) of Columbiana; grandchildren, Chelsia Massey and Matthew Massey (Helen); and great-grandchildren, Anthony and Summer Bowlin, Andrew and Sebastien Henault and Alexis Marie Massey
